Displacement, Climate Change & Disasters

FREE TALK: 12:00 - 12:30

Climate change threatens to play havoc with the kinds of disasters we face. On a warmer planet we can expect to see new patterns of sudden disasters unfolding. Disasters already displace millions of people every year. However, in several decades time we may be facing unseen patterns of disasters that could displace many more. This talk explores several natural disasters and the stories of the people who were displaced by them. It also looks at the evidence linking climate change and future patterns of disasters.

This event is free but tickets are required. Ticket are availble in person form the box office, by emailing or by calling 0191 227 5500.
