A first-hand account of the perilous journey made by a group of Syrian refugees forced to leave their country and their loved ones. Navigating land and sea on an old fishing boat manned by smugglers, the nail-biting journey leads to Europe where the refugees go their separate ways. Each must battle to try and forge a life for themselves as they face the red tape of regulations and refugee hostels, showing the lengths people will go to find safety and a future.

Join us after the screening for discussion with The Crossing director George Kurian and Professor Derek Bell, Newcastle University, whose work focuses on connections between climate change and human rights.
