Learn about the beginning of cinema and make your own early animation devices

The day begins with an overview of the history and principles of animation including zoetropes and thaumatropes, through to more contemporary stop-frame techniques such as pixilation and plastercine animation before students are introduced to stop-frame software and tasked with creating a short animation using their new skills.

At the end of the day we set all the films to music and watch them back.
