The next deadline for applications for Film and Audio work is midnight, Sunday 7 July 2019.
All applications must be made through our online portal. Applications may be submitted in other formats if required for access reasons and agreed in advance by Tyneside Cinema.
Applicants must be between 16 and 30 years of age, be living in England and be a UK resident of the UK.
Applicants who are in education cannot submit proposals for work that is part of their studies or course curriculum.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Our first interactive strand will open for applications in June 2019.
All submissions will be read by the New Creatives North team at Tyneside Cinema and a short list will be drawn up using the selection criteria and creative brief for each strand (see What Are We Looking For).
All shortlisted proposals will be considered by a production panel made up of representatives from the BBC, Tyneside Cinema and production partners who will select the artists for the programme using the selection criteria and creative brief for each strand.
The decision of the commissioning panel will be final.
Due to the high number of applications we receive – we had 142 for the first round and commissioned 16 pieces of work - we are unable to provide individual feedback on unsuccessful applications. We appreciate this can be frustrating for unsuccessful applicants but simply do not have the resources to do this.
Where we feel an idea has the potential to be developed and resubmitted to a future round we will let artists know.
