The Factory is Tyneside Cinema's free artist film programme for young people

  • Meet and collaborate with like-minded young people and professional artists
  • Make new artist film work
  • Learn essential filmmaking skills including camera, sound and editing, and experiment with other creative techniques
  • Look at how artists use film and visit exhibitions
  • Develop yourself as an artist
  • Showcase your work at Tyneside Cinema

What Will You Get Out Of It?

The Factory gives you the chance to develop as an artist, experiment with new ideas and gain a broader understanding of artists' film. It’s a chance to collaborate with other young people in a creative and friendly environment supported by professionals.

You’ll get involved with all practical and creative aspects of the artistic process, from viewing and discussing professional work, to making and exhibiting your own.

What do you need?

  • Enthusiasm and creativity!
  • Be committed to attending all the sessions.
  • Be prepared to collaborate as part of a small team to create work.
