BFI Residential Programme in Screenwriting

Are you aged 16-19? Are you passionate and committed about writing for film? 

Then the BFI Film Academy Residential Programme in Screenwriting is for you!

The BFI Film Academy provides opportunities for young people between the ages of 16–19 to develop new skills and build a career in the film industry, no matter where they live or what their background.

The BFI Film Academy Residential Programme in Screenwriting offers:

  • An exclusive insider’s view of how to break into the film business
  • The opportunity to work with a mentor to produce your own short film script
  • Development of craft skills necessary to succeed as a screenwriter
  • The chance to network with leading professionals working in the British film industry today

The 2018-19 programme runs from Saturday 26 - Sunday 27 January and from Sunday 17 - Friday 22 February 2019.

Applicants should:

  • Demonstrate skill and enthusiasm for writing for film
