Tyneside Cinema’s Filmmaking Academies give individual young people aged 15-19 the chance to develop their skills through working in small groups to plan, shoot and edit short films which are premiered on our big screen before being entered into awards and festivals at home and abroad.

No previous experience is required, and participants have used their experience from our Academy programmes to gain a place at university or as part of a portfolio to get work in the film industry.
