The North East of England is home to some of the most deprived areas of the country that have been extremely vulnerable to the cuts in public services that have taken place recently. It also has a long history of civil and workers' rights, including the struggle against poverty.
This panel discussion, part of the Ending Poverty programme, will look at poverty, vulnerability and modern exploitation with Professor Sugata Mitra (Newcastle University), Dr Rachel Williams (Hull University), Rosie Lewis (Deputy Director, The Angelou Centre) and Craig Barlow (The Wilberforce Institute).
This event was developed in collaboration with the Contemporary Studies Network.
