Alexandra Dean’s awesome documentary tells the incredible true story of Hollywood star Hedy Lemarr, who led a double life as a genius-level scientist and inventor, and whose work is at least partly responsible for the existence of Bluetooth and WiFi.
Fascinating, riveting, and not a little bit sad, this film has a little bit of everything, and could hardly be more timely in its commentary on changing attitudes and opportunities surrounding gender in the twentieth century. In other words, enormously recommended.
“It may be the best "not just a pretty face" story in the history of the world.” – Financial Times
