Friends of the Tyneside get £2.00 off film screening tickets and discounts on special events!

Tickets for Job Seekers, refugees and asylum seekers, and those receiving Incapacity Benefit are now just £1.00

The cinema offers a concessionary rate of £1 every weekday before 17:00 for those of working age & unemployed receiving jobseekers, incapacity benefit, or with refugee and asylum seeker status. Proof dated within the last 12months may be required (e.g. you can request a letter from the Job Centre or DWP).

Student Discount 

Holders of an NUS card can buy tickets everyday for just £6.25 after 17:00 or after 14:00 on weekends and for £5.75 at all other times. Just show us your NUS card when you buy your ticket. (Please note that this ticket price does not include special events or seats in the Classic Circle). You must have ID available for presentation as requested at the cinema.

A student is classified as someone in full time education and holds a valid form of photo ID such as an NUS, NUS Associate, or ISIC card which clearly shows the period of validity.  You must have the ID available for presentation as requested at the cinema.

Super Tuesdays: Tickets just £5.00 every Tuesday afternoon

Every Tuesday tickets to screenings starting before 5.00pm in our cinemas are just £5.00 each and seats in the Classic Circle are £5.50. Enjoy!

Family Ticket Deal

Buy a family ticket for four people for just £25 (daytime)/£28 (evening) for select Family Films titles in the Tyneside Cinema programme.

Available to any group of 2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children. Children must be under 15 years of age to qualify. Subject to availability. Offer only available on films marked as 'Family Films'. Tyneside Cinema withholds the rights to remove this offer at any time.

The Classic Cinema – wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-user access to The Classic screen is in the Circle only but you can buy Circle tickets at the standard ticket rate for that screening. If you need to be accompanied by a companion to assist you, they will be admitted for free.

The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-governmental body, which has classified cinema films since it was set up in 1912, and videos since the passing of the Video Recordings Act in 1984.

  • The use of vouchers and complimentary tickets may be restricted in the first few weeks of the release of a specific film - this is referred to as the 'Free List Suspended' period. Please check the page of the film or event you intend to see or contact the box office in advance of booking to check whether or not it is Free List Suspended. Information is subject to change.

  • Only one discount is available on any ticket at any time

  • Reservations must be paid for in advance at point of booking

  • A booking fee of £1.30 per transaction will be made for online purchases 

  • Photographic proof of eligibility may be required for any discounted tickets.

  • Identification may also be required for 12A, 15 and 18 certificate films. Valid documents for proof of age are passports, driving licenses, national ID cards or a card with the PASS hologram.
