The support of our donors has been crucial since Tyneside Cinema’s foundation in 1937 as a News Theatre in helping us evolve over the past 80 years into the cultural institution and social destination we know and love today.
Tyneside Cinema is a Registered Charity (number 502 592). Our 2016 appeal helped to transform High Friar Lane and as a result our new continental style pavement café, Vicolo, continues to go from strength to strength.
In 2017 we are celebrating our 80th year by launching our 80th Anniversary Appeal. Our 80th Anniversary Appeal will help to fund our programme for the future, ensuring we continue to bring another 80 years of film education and entertainment to the North East.
As an added incentive, thanks to match-funding from the Arts Council’s Catalyst Evolve programme, all donations made will be matched 100%, turning your £80 donation into £160. Please also remember, if you are a UK taxpayer, to Gift Aid your donation to increase your donation further.
The Tyneside Cinema 80th Anniversary Appeal runs from now until 31 March 2018.
As an extra incentive, thanks to match-funding from the Arts Council’s Catalyst Evolve programme, all donations made will be matched 100%. This will turn an £8 donation into £16 or and £80 donation into £160 at no extra cost to you. Please also remember, if you are a UK taxpayer, to Gift Aid your donation to increase your donation further.
To donate please visit our Just Giving page online:
You can also make a donation in person at our Box Office.
There will also be other opportunities to donate when you visit the Cinema, and in our 80th year we will be offering an optional 80p Anniversary Appeal donation on tickets for all customers.
We appreciate that many of our supporters donate regularly to a range of charities and that you may not able to donate as much as you might like, but all donations, large or small are appreciated and will make a real difference to our future.
Our Sales Conference in The Electra was described internally as "the best so far." The success was due not only to the superb venue but to the staff who helped make it.
