The Classic is our largest space, and the heart of the Tyneside Cinema. Originally the News Theatre screen, The Classic is a magnificently restored auditorium which features balcony seating in its Classic Circle and a stage ideal for awards ceremonies and photo opportunities.
Entertaining in the luxurious Classic Circle
A space as amazing as the films onscreen, entertain your guests with the latest cinema releases in the luxurious Classic Circle. This public space is available for private hire or group bookings at £16 per person.
This gives you an exclusive handmade seat in our Circle balcony, nibbles and a glass of sparkling wine for each of your guests. If you would like to reserve the entire Circle (63 seats) for your party at a public screening, it’s available for £900.

Facilities
2K DLP digital film projection and 35mm film projection, Dolby Digital surround sound and can present DVCAM, BETA SP, DIGIBETA, VHS, DVD and 35mm, raked seating, WiFi.

Presentation projection from Mac or PC with laptop, access to satellite feed, lectern/top table, roaming microphones x5. Please see our Extras page for a list of additional equipment that you can hire for your event.
